1979

GCC was established as a public shareholding company in 1977 with paid up Capital AED 300,000,000.

 

1981

GCC was officially declared open on 28th April 1982 by His Highness Shaikh Saqr Bin Mohd Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah

 

1985

Mixed firing started in kiln and calciner after introducing Natural gas firing along with 180 cSt fuel oil.

 

1988

Marine Heavy fuel oil 1000 cSt is also introduced along with 180 cSt and Natural gas.

 

1992

GCC commissioned a new Rotary Packer along with auto and semi auto loaders in the loading site with 2400 bag per hour Moller – Germany

 

1994,1997,2001

Micro Mill Project for fine grinding Pet.Coke/Coal,which is needed for Kiln & NSP, by Fuller International – USA.

 

1994

GCC commissioned a new Gas Turbine with rated output of 27.25 MW Germany

 

1995

Filter Bag House for reducing the dust emission from Kiln and cooler chimney to 25/mm3  , by Fuller International – USA.

 

1996

The company has been awarded the ISO 9002 (Quality Standards Certification)

 

1996

GCC commissioned an additional clinker truck loading system, by Aumund Germany.

 

1997

GCC commissioned secondary crushing system for silica rock to produce crushed silica with 10 mm size, by Svedala - UK.

 

1997

Clinker pre-crushing unit for enhancing the cement mill grinding capacity, by CEMAG GmbH – Germany.

 

1997

Pet Coke Indirect firing System for feeding kiln and NSP, by CEMAG GMBH  - Germany.

 

1997

KOE Kiln output Enhancement from 3300 t/h to 3800 t/h & Kiln Shell Repair Project, by CEMAG GmbH & IKN  GmbH – Germany.

 

1998-1999

New grinding mill for increasing cement production 70 tons/h, by CEMAG GmbH – Germany.

 

1999

CCR Automation & monitoring & display of operational parameters with alarm and indications for improving the factory operation and reducing  man power cost and faults, by Siemens – Pakistan.

 

2000

Dome Silo for clinker storage of 110,000 tons in order to reduce clinker dust emission, by Dome Technology

Inc  -  USA. 

 

2001

GCC introduced GGBS production

 

2000-2001

Multi compartment Silo with a capacity of 5000 tons,by CEMaG GmbH - Germany

 

 

2002

The Company has been awarded the ISO 14001   Environmental Standards Certification in 2002.

 

2002

GCC had acquired a new quarry of silica (Adhan quarry), which could be reserved  for a long time and it constitutes 14% of the raw materials. 

 

2003

GCC is certified for ISO 9001:2000 by Bureau Veritas Quality International.

 

2003

GCC enhanced clinker output from 3800 T/D to 4100 T/D by optimisation process

 

2003

Wired & Wireless Data Network Project for ensuring safe data flow between the world and every office at GCC, by Avaya Communication – USA

 

2004

Coal grinding mill with 28 t/h capacity, by F.L.Smith - Denmark

 

2004

Cement grinding mill project with capacity 115 t/h, by CEMTEC GmbH – Austria

 

2004

GCC is in the process of installing 6 additional cement/GGBS silos with a total capacity of 25000 tons.

 

2005-2006

A new clinker production line with a capacity of 7500 t/d will be installed by ThyssenKrupp/India and Polysius AG/ Germany.(GCC becomes the largest clinker producer in UAE)
